ROMEOVILLE – The equipment that drives the U.S. Postal Service’s operations will be housed in Romeoville after a government contractor signed a lease for a 723,291-square-foot industrial space.

“This is a major hub for backbone services for the postal service,” said Romeoville Mayor John Noak, adding that firm PAE also will bring 130 new jobs.

The owner of the “class A” space at 1070 Windham Parkway, Liberty Property Trust, announced the lease signing Friday in a news release.

The building, called Liberty Business Center Windham, was a distribution center for Home Depot.

It contains 150 loading docs, a 30-foot clearing height and auto and trailer parking, the release states.
