ChallengerHER is seeking to connect female business owners with government contracting opportunities during a free event Tuesday.
More than 600 people have registered to attend the event at the Houston Community College’s Southeast Campus. In addition to an agenda filled with speakers and educational sessions, more than 30 government buyers also will be attending.
“The federal government spends almost $500 billion a year on goods and services and this conference is a great opportunity for women-owned small firms to learn how to access those contracting opportunities,” Tim Jeffcoat, district director for the Small Business Administration’s Houston office, said in the news release.
ChallengeHER started in 2013 and is a joint initiative from the U.S. Small Business Administration, Women Impacting Public Policy and American Express OPEN.
